This fresh and flavorful cottage cheese dip sounds weird, but it’s not. Smooth and delicious and made with pantry staples you can throw it together in just minutes. The star of the show here is obviously the cottage cheese. Loaded with 13 grams of protein and minimal fat, easy cottage cheese dip makes a great snack for anyone counting macros.
I’ll admit, I thought it was weird when I found out you can blend cottage cheese into a savory appetizer. I love cottage cheese for breakfast, topped with fruit and honey is my favorite but my grandmother used to eat it with black pepper.
Serve this with crackers (wheat thins are my go-to), chips or veggies. Definitely go for raw veggies like you would see on a dip tray from the grocery store: cucumbers, carrots, and bell peppers. You can also use it as a spread on an everything bagel for breakfast. My mother in law doesn’t even like cottage cheese and was shocked when I told her that was the main ingredient, she loved this dip, too!
HOW TO MAKE IT:
Gather your ingredients and use a food processor to combine, make it smooth and creamy! Only takes minutes and the payoff is an amazing app or snack. This will keep in the fridge for about 5 days so make it ahead of time for your event or snack on it all week.
WHAT YOU NEED:
- Knife
- Food processor (could be done in a blender slowly, but the food processor is notably better
- Cottage cheese – I usually only buy the 4% milkfat variety but I’ve heard of 2% working well also
- Chives and Parsley – as usual, fresh is best!
- Lemon juice – Obviously a fresh lemon will be better but lemon juice from the squeeze bottle works just fine
- Garlic powder, onion powder, dried dill – OK to omit the dried dill if you want but it definitely adds a nice background flavor if you have some laying around
